I have been involved in the development of many IoT projects, but perhaps two of them are worth mentioning here:

1) Automatic door bell system

The machine uses the Raspberry Pi controller. The machine also utilizes the camera and speaker for processing.

The benefits of contactless doorbell include increased security, prevention from theft, alerting the owner about an incoming call, voice assistance, remote access, can be connected via various devices, features of a contactless doorbell, automatic visitor recognition, power supply, network connection, vision sensor, PIR (passive infrared) sensor.

2) Home automation is undoubtedly one of the most discussed topics related to IoT. In today’s world, every house owner wants to make his/her life easier and comfortable. With the advancement of technology, we are able to achieve this goal easily. For example, if you want to switch off the lights or start the AC unit, just log into your home automation app on your mobile phone and do so. You will find the button labeled “Switch Off Lights” or “Start AC Unit”. Just click on these buttons and you will see the lights turn off or AC unit starts working.

To add further convenience to your home automation system, you can install smart locks on doors and windows. Once you lock the door or window, you can unlock them anytime from anywhere. Also, you can set schedules for turning on or off the heating or cooling system based on the weather forecast. Apart from these features, you can also monitor the temperature inside your room from anywhere. So, I think that home automation is one of the best examples of how IoT can improve our lives.
